Platte, South Dakota: I was hoping to capture a typical South Dakota summer sunset–the kind where bright pinks and blues flow over an endless skyline. Looking for a place to point my camera, I found a lone birdhouse sitting on fence post. A splash of sunlight washed over the house. One quick click of the shutter–1/250th of a second to be precise–and the light was gone. It wasn’t until I got back home and download the digital files that I realized I may have captured something worth sharing.
